On March 18, 1931, Anderson-Shea VFW Post 2046
was publicly and officially initiated at the State Armory.
Representatives of the American Legion, United Spanish American
War Veterans were in attendance along with special guests from
VFW's in Torrington, Willimantic, New Britain, Bristol,
Danbury, Hartford, Meriden and Thompsonville.
Initial Membership in 1931 was 35 veterans, by 1932 membership
exceeded 200.
January 25, 1933, 47 World War I Veterans of Post 2046 were
awarded Purple Hearts at the State Armory with the Governor in
attendance.
